Azogen 7-0-0, approved in the United States for use in organic agriculture

In important news for Solugen, AZOGEN 7-0-0 liquid nitrogen fertilizer, extracted from hog manure using its energy-efficient distillation process, has been approved by the U.S. agency OMRI for use in organic farming.

OMRI is an organization that lists inputs such as fertilizers, pest control products and livestock care products that meet organic standards. Approved products are “OMRI Listed®” and may carry the OMRI seal.

OMRI verifies inputs for use in organic production. By focusing exclusively on inputs, OMRI provides essential expertise to support the organic certification process. On average, 10-15% of applications received by OMRI do not make it through the process, either because the application is withdrawn by the applicant or because the product is determined to be prohibited.

With this organic label Solugen thus closes the loop in terms of the circular economy by valorizing, through an innovative greenhouse gas reducing technology, the ammonia gas, which normally volatilizes to a large extent into the atmosphere during the storage and spreading of manure. This gas is captured during the treatment process of the liquid fraction of the manure and returned in liquid form with high fertilizing properties to support the development of organic agriculture.
